Durability of concrete is a quite large subject which include durability planning, proactive or reactive management of potential major pathologies, durability design methods, diagnosis and repair interventions. This training course is 16 hours divided into two days of 8h and include theory sections along with case studies to be solved in teams by the participants on the mentioned above subjects.
Day1 :
Day 2 :
Notes :
- The “Troubleshooting” training course by the ACI is recommended, but not mandatory, before enrolling in this course. It is implicit that participants have a basic to intermediate understanding of concrete to fully benefit from the course content.
- The course covers concepts and definitions commonly encountered in large construction projects, major concrete pathologies, potential solutions to resolve them, durability design methodologies aligned with project objectives, and diagnosis and interventions when the expected durability of a project is not achieved. It also includes presentations of several testing methods for fresh and hardened concrete to accurately characterize the concrete planned for a project based on durability objectives.
- A certificate of completion, including the number of hours attended, will be provided at the end of the course (especially for members of the OIQ).
- A minimum of 15 participants is required for the course to take place, and a maximum of 35 participants per class will be allowed to ensure good interaction with the instructors.”

Day 1 :
Day 2 :
Notes :
- A general knowledge quiz is proposed to participants at the beginning of the training to evaluate and adapt the training content
- Concrete technology training of ABQ (Quebec Concrete Producers association) is recommended, but not mandatory before registering to the training.
- The present training deals with construction site problems often encountered, their causes and possible solutions, based on advanced concrete knowledge. The training includes also the presentation of several test methods, on plastic and hardened concrete to adequately characterize the concrete in question in the construction site’s conditions.
- A training attestation showing the hours attended will be provided at the end of the training (for professional’s associations yearly/bi-annual training required, e.g. OIQ)
- A minimum of 15 people is required so that the training is offered but a maximum of 35 people is however allowed per session to allow better interaction with speakers.
